Welcome Performers

The Festival of Spirituality and Peace has hosted participants and performers from all over the world including: Zimbabwe, the USA, India, Japan, Tanzania, Cambodia, Tibet, Canada, Bosnia and the UK.

We are building on our diverse programme in 2009, and we therefore invite performers from anywhere in the World to contact us and discuss the possibilty of appearing at our festival.

Our offer

We can offer a beautiful venue right in the heart of Scotland's Capital. We do not charge performers to use this space and all performances will be promoted in our Festival programme (40,000 copies circulated nationwide) and on our website (5000 unique visits per month and climbing).

Performers share a 50/50 split of ticket sales with the Festival and the Festival is often able to pay reasonable expenses. This means performers should never loose money when they perform with us.

Generally speaking, we do not pay performers for appearing as part of our programme. We hope the beautiful venue and the ethos of our Festival is enough to tempt you to be part of the celebrations.

Our main venue, St John's Church, has a capacity of 350. This means there is a good chance of making money through ticket sales.

Location

St John's sits at the West End of Princes Street and is therefore ideally located for attracting large crowds. St John's sits on a large site which, during the Festival, is bustling with activity. We have cafes, craft fairs, outdoor performance space and plenty more besides.

Spec

We have a new PA system and a 24 channel mixer plus various microphones (lapel mics, radio mics and swan-neck mics). The venue is best suited to traditional and classical music although we can be creative with sound and accomodate all kinds of music if necessary. Classical performers always enjoy performing at St John's due to its beautiful natural accoustics.

The accoustics also make St John's very suitable for drama and spoken word events.
